Support for Parents

Modern parenting is challenging.
Parenting can be so rewarding, but also very challenging.
With so much information out there, it can be hard to tease out what is “right” and have confidence in what you are doing.
On top of everything else, this may be compounded by struggling with differences and tension with your partner about parenting decisions, adversity in other areas of your life, or your child’s struggles with mental health or developmental issues.
Parental struggles can be isolating at times, overwhelming, and full of difficulties as you remain at the helm trying to steer you and your family away from the rocks.
Chaos continues despite your best efforts.
Each day, you strive to do all you can as a parent – putting your best efforts into every parental task.
You may have self-defeating thoughts, such as, “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good at this,” which can further hinder your ability to hold the mental load effectively.
Your kids’ moods can bring chaos, and it can be challenging to self-regulate as a result.

As a parent, you feel all alone.
You may feel like you are the only one struggling, and that all the other parents have it all together, doing things with such ease.
Thinking about talking with older family members makes you feel uncomfortable, because although they know what it’s like to be parents, the complications of the tech age are something they may not fully understand.
You need someone to talk to, vent to, and figure out a more sustainable solution to all these issues.
Therapy offers the guidance you need.
As a therapist, I want to know all your struggles. Therefore, we will begin with a conversation to identify the issues you are facing.
Throughout the process, I will provide a neutral and nonjudgmental space where we can determine the best way to proceed in helping you address your parenting issues.
We all have doubts. Awareness is the first step to finding your calm.
Our goal is to help you find that calm.

We work calmly and compassionately.
We’ll work together to help you find the tools that will enable you to be aware and mindful of self-regulation, so you can effectively regulate with your child.
You will learn to rewrite the messages that you reveal about parenting and use them to help your child create a positive inner voice. Additionally, you will learn to practice compassion for yourself and cultivate more harmony within your family.
We’ll create small, reasonable goals together to parent more effectively that fit with your busy life.
To develop a system that works for all family members, we will try various approaches, both in and out of session, to test what works.

Handle the mental load with ease.
You will be more at peace with yourself and your children and be able to manage the mental load without struggle.
You will be able to work together with your partner and children to manage the behaviors, issues, and tasks of the day.
And most importantly, you will have more time to meet your needs because of the systems you have created.

Create synchrony within your home.
As a parent, you want the best for your child. It’s essential to you that they feel confident and competent, able to manage their emotions, and be kind.
By learning the best parenting approach and modeling it for your child, you can help them establish the strongest connection to their individual selves. You can also have time for yourself and your needs.
